4. Quality versus quantity — Another key factor in your online marketing should be the quality of your program, and not necessarily it’s quantity. In other words, what is more valuable 1,000 visitors with 5 purchases or 100 visitors with 10 purchases?
5. The Predicament - pain or pleasure, problem or opportunity — Your clients have a pain or a pleasure, a problem or an opportunity, and your goal is to connect them with the answer to the predicament they find themselves in.
6. Talk To Them — Not at, not over, not around, not below them. Talk to them honestly, factually – this will work better in the long run than some cheesy used car salesman approach. Be honest.
7. Relationships – When I was in marketing and advertising back when God first made dirt – it was all about networking and the relationships you establish with people. With the internet, your long term marketing goals should include establishing relationships with your clients as opposed to “how much money can I make from them?”
8. Pull Me – Push Me — When I’m attracted to someone’s message, it has the effect of pulling me into them. If they’re pushing me, I run.

With the new FTC regulations, more people will be scared away from internet marketing, which essentially opens up the field for those of us who prefer to be honest internet marketers. The idea here is to create a sustainable income for your business through sound fundamentals of marketing.

So many internet marketers are down and dirty and scrambling for your hard-earned dollars as opposed to providing quality content and value. One of the best things you can do to establish trust with your potential clients is to offer them something of value – for free.

Internet Marketing Is Not Rocket Science
It really isn’t – it’s about the exponential factor. If you take two cents ($.02) and double its exponent (2 x2 = 4, 4x 2= 8, 8×2 = 16) every day for thirty days at the end of 30 days you will have $10,737,418.24. That’s starting from 2 cents on the first day. The breaking point in this formula is basically half way through the month. This is exactly the way that internet marketing works — it’s all about the numbers.

Develop a Plan — and stick to it. Once you find something that works, keep doing that. Do it again and again, and again, only with different products and/or niche markets.

Stay on Target — the biggest problem most people have with internet marketing is that they don’t stay on target. They get distracted and working online can be one of the most distracting things I’ve ever dealt with.

Choose a Methodology — and conquer it. Whether it be pay-per-click advertising (not recommended for small pocketbooks or the new person starting out on the web) – pay-per-action, the bum marketing method (article marketing) or niche websites – to name a few – whatever method you choose – stick to it until you know the ins and outs of it and can do it in your sleep.

Stay with What Works — you don’t have to reinvent the wheel – you really don’t Stay with what works until you’ve got a concrete program going. Don’t switch up mid stream – if you want to play with a new approach, play outside of your regular marketing program.

Be Consistent — don’t stop what you’re doing – keep at it and you will continue to build momentum. The idea is to reach that exponential mark that continues to bring in an steady income for you.

Be Honest and Fair – and don’t take things to personally – keep yourself out of your business and keep your emotions out of it too. If you stay honest and fair in all your dealings online this will follow you where ever you go.

Develop a work schedule — that works for you and continue to build on this until you’ve got something happening for you continuously. Until you get your program going, it will more than likely take a lot of work up front.

It Takes Work – understand that just thinking about what you want to be doing but not putting action behind those thoughts won’t get you off the ground. In order to fly, you have to build that airplane, take it for a test drive and then maintain it to keep it working for you.
